Arden graduated from Penn State University in 2023 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Public Relations and French & Francophone Studies. This is the second year she's lived in Paris, as she previously served as a TAPIF language assistant for the Académie de Versailles during the 2023-24 academic year. Though she's a New Englander at heart, Paris is her ultimate coup de coeur.
For her Master's thesis, Arden seeks to uncover the pioneering Afrofeminist literature and trace its roots from the Caribbean to mainland France during the 19th and 20th centuries. She's especially captivated by the Nardal sisters and their establishment of the first Black literary salon in Paris. Beyond Reid Hall, you can find Arden trying her hand at a new instrument or spending time with her boisterous cat, Lola.
