Audrey Reiss

Audrey Reiss

Originally from the Bay Area, Audrey graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in History and French Cultural Studies. After graduation, she moved to Nantes where she worked as an English assistant through TAPIF. Audrey’s academic interests include – but aren’t limited to! – gender and sexuality in early modern Europe, fashion as a form of self expression, and living history. Her favorite research project as an undergrad focused on prostitution and power in Paris during the 1750s. Building off of this work, her HiLi thesis will examine the portrayal of Marie Antionette and sapphic identities in the propaganda of the French Revolution. Audrey’s current personal projects include learning to quilt, building her soup recipe repertoire, and importing line dancing to Paris.
