Briana Anthony graduated from The Ohio State University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and double minors in French and African & African American Studies. In the Fall of 2022, Briana started working as a Fulbright France English Teaching Assistant in collaboration with TAPIF. She taught at a lycée north of Paris in the Académie de Versailles. In Spring 2023, Briana lectured an English Language course at Cergy CY Paris Université in the Marketing and Management Department. Briana enjoys teaching and learning, both inside and outside of the classroom.

Briana enrolled in Columbia University’s History and Literature Master of Arts program because she wants to make history more accessible through storytelling. She believes that accessible history informs the development of an equitable future. Briana intends to research Black migrations between the United States, France, and French territories in relation to nineteenth century abolitionist movements. She hopes to confront philosophical questions of agency, citizenship, and freedom. Briana looks forward to building her understanding in history, literature, and research methodologies, while studying in her favorite city, Paris!
