Catherine Wallace

Originally from North Carolina, I received my bachelor’s degree in history from Brown University in 2015. My undergraduate thesis was entitled “The Office of the American First Lady and Second Wave Feminism in the Second Half of the Twentieth Century.” After graduating, I taught elementary school for two years in New Orleans as a Teach for America corps member. I have also taught English in two middle schools in Drancy, France as part of the English Teaching Assistant program in France. In Columbia’s History and Literature Master’s Program, I look forward to deepening my knowledge of the interplay between academic disciplines, strengthening my understanding of French academia, and actively engaging in cultural and intellectual exchange.
