Tania was born in Nairobi, Kenya and raised in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She completed an undergraduate degree in Comparative Literature at Emory University in Atlanta in 2021, followed by a Master’s in English from the same institution.
In her Master’s essay, Tania hopes to explore the reciprocal nature of the relationship between life and literature, in part by studying how artistic creation is linked to (religious, existential) self-formation, as well as how our broader ideas about life are intrinsically shaped and inflected by various kinds of literary ‘artifice’.
In her free time, Tania likes to read, write, and meander about town.
