Karina Hershberger Burnett

Karina graduated from Vassar College in May 2023 with a double major in Urban Studies and French. She’s a proud New Yorker but finds Paris très agréable. This is the second time she has studied at Reid Hall, as she did a semester abroad with the Vassar-Wesleyan Program in Paris in 2022.

Karina is interested in art history, French philosophy and post-structuralist thought, urban studies, and music. She is currently trying to find a used guitar for under 50 euros. Her mémoire will push Édouard Glissant’s poetics of relation into the digital space by considering the existence of a cyber bricolage, a way to express the self through creative fragmentation and cultural quotation imploded by the speed and hyper-connectivity of digital mediums.
