Siddhartha Minhas

Siddhartha Minhas

A proud South Asian-Canadian, Siddhartha graduated from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver with a joint major in French and English Literatures, a minor in the Global Humanities with certificates in Hellenic Studies, as well as in Medieval and Renaissance Studies. Having studied abroad in Lesvos, Greece and the Loire Valley of France, he is thrilled to continue to pursue his cross-cultural interests in storytelling with Columbia in Paris.

At Reid Hall, Siddhartha will be working to better understand how the travel guides of the medieval world exploring the Far East, like of “Sir” John Mandeville, would come to influence Early modern European thought and colonialism—how the Anglo-Norman choses estranges would shape the Occidental imagination of the Eastern other in characters of both “foreign” and “strange.”

When he is not thinking, he is feeling. A professional actor, trained singer, and award-winning poet, Siddhartha embraces the Bohemian lifestyle, delighting in performance and storytelling not only in a critical manner, but in a creative one, too. For him, intellectually and artistically, Paris is truly the place to be!
